I purchased the below skirt in a huge shopping centre in Tokyo last year. I loved it so much that I got it in lemon AND brown, and have worn them both to death. As you can probably tell, I really like high waisted skirts. Something about them are really feminine, and super flattering.

I like adding a ribbon to collared shirts. I saw someone do it a while back, and since then, I kind of took the idea and ran with it. Anything with a collar, I basically finish it off with a ribbon. Something about it looks cool.

My socks were purchased in a crazy market in Kyoto (Japan). I almost didn't buy them (literally walked out of the store), but I went back the next day and got them. I have never really been into tie-dye, but these socks have completed so many of my outfits. I love bright coloured socks, even when they don't match anything that I am wearing.

Wearing: Asos sunglasses, salmon coloured thrifted shirt and belt, yellow skirt from an unknown store in Tokyo, socks purchased in a market in Japan, thrifted shoes.

WELCOME TO BEAR GRILLZ

Welcome to Bear Grillz!

My name is Sarah (nickname "Bear", hence the name Bear Grillz). I am a 23 year old Public Relations and Design Graduate from Melbourne who is currently living in London.

My blog is nothing fancy. I have never studied fashion, nor do I necessarily claim to be a “fashionista” as such. I simply enjoy the powerfulness that fashion just IS. Fashion gives us, as individuals, the opportunity to be who we want, make people perceive and interpret us however they/we want, as well as creating an identity.

I adore vintage and thrift stores (in fact, most of my wardrobe are random finds under £5), as well as mixing it with some sneaky higher end pieces to make a quirky outfit. I love girly dresses, and wearing cute socks. I love mixing colours that don’t necessarily go together but somehow work. I love mixing denim dresses with odd thrift store shirts, and over sized trench coats and capes.

Ever since I started becoming aware of the fashion world, I made a promise to myself that I was always going to be different to the next person. Fashion is an extraordinary avenue and powerful tool in order to do this. It’s all about looking individual and diverse, no matter what you wear or what your style is.

Now that all the pretentious wank is over, enjoy Bear Grillz. Happy reading, ya'll x
